Relieve Your Financial Burden, Consolidate Now

Today’s economy has resulted in 80% of Americans carrying a debt of up to $10,000. Because of this, more and more debt consolidation companies have been advertising and doing business in the United States. Debt consolidation loans can provide a way for people with bad credit to prevent their financial condition and credit status from getting worse.

Debt consolidation companies offer various debt reduction strategies that target high interest rates, high monthly payments and long pay off terms. With some consumers struggling with monthly payments on as many as eight credit cards carrying up to 25% interest each, these companies offer a welcome relief.

You can reduce your monthly payments up to 60 percent by consolidating them. Payments including interest and the length of pay off terms can all be reduced by a competent debt consolidation company. The good ones can get you out of debt in a shorter time than if you continued making payments on credit cards and other non-secured loans. Those types of loans can take up to 10 to 15 years to pay off and most of your money is going to pay interest rather than the principle. That route is a major trap and a gigantic of waste of money at a time when you need every cent you can put your hands on.

Using well qualified, experienced consultants, debt consolidation companies work with clients and lenders to determine the best strategy to take to resolve clients? financial problems. And one of the most popular methods of reducing debt is consolidation of all unsecured debts (that is, debts not tied to any property) into a single loan offered by the debt consolidation company itself.

Debt consolidation takes all of a person’s unsecured loans and puts them together for one monthly payment, which can lower monthly debt by 40-60%. This reduction can help consumers get out of debt in as little as a few months. If people continued to pay on the different accounts without consolidation, it could take 10 to 15 years. By making lower payments over a fewer number of months, consumers can start building their credit again. If a person chose the option to file for bankruptcy, their credit would be affected for many years.

The way debt consolidation companies help consumers is by paying off their debts for them in a one-time payment. This saves the customer interest and other expenses that add up over time. It also sometimes allows consumers to delay payments under the terms of the new loan.

With consolidation, you only have one (lower) payment each month. It could save you thousands of dollars. It will take a shorter time to get out of debt. There are many debt consolidation companies from which to choose. Look for companies online. In the long run, it will help your financial future.

Beware Of Debt Consolidation Companies

Some debt consolidation companies, sadly, are not legitimate. Some companies exploit consumers in numerous ways with promises of freedom from debt. Educate yourself on the process of consolidating debt and watch for these signs in order to protect yourself from shady operations.

Quote Unusually Low Monthly Payments: A debt consolidation company works with the creditors with the intention of lowering your rate of interests. The creditors would have already predetermined how much could be reduced from the rate of interest. It means that all consolidation programs would get you the same rate of interest. But from 2004 the creditors have declined to accept the reduced minimum monthly payments. Companies who promise you less monthly payments may give you low figure. But eventually they will increase the amount once you are pulled in to the program. Therefore instead of comparing the monthly payments, you are advised to request the company for fees on their service.

Demand All Debts Be Included: Companies may demand that all your debts be included in the debt consolidation. But they may not have your interest in their mind. For, some loans such as credit union loans are not eligible for lower interest rates. Loans like, student loans, may have a lower rate of interest. If you include all your bills in the monthly payment, the company will charge you a higher fee in the name of more accounts as handling charges. Therefore, before committing yourself for a program, think twice on the accounts that could be consolidated for lower rate of interest.

When a company wants you to include all of your bills in your monthly payments, usually what they are actually wanting is to charge you a larger handling fee. To keep this from happening make sure that you look through all of your bills and decided ahead of time which bills you would like to be included. Beware Of High Upfront Fees. Turn and run when a company tells you that they charge an upfront fee. Though most will promise you a refund of the fee upon the completion of the program, very few people actually finish the program which means they keep the money.

But you can rely on non-profit companies who charge a flat monthly fee for each account they handle. They charge less because there are financing companies who come forward to subsidize. The profit companies will charge you a competitive fee along with a flat monthly charge.

Offering Additional Services – Watch out for companies offering additional services. These services, often scams, can include credit repair, debt settlement, and even debt forgiveness. Know what your goal is, and find out how you can realistically achieve it.

Request Account Numbers First: You must be highly suspicious of any company that asks for your account numbers, social security number, or other personal information before providing a quote. If you give all these details just like that it will lead to identity theft and you will be the looser. Simply providing name of the creditor, balances and rate of interest will be enough to get an accurate quote.
